SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE CEO NEW YORK, NY Uncommon Schools is a nonprofit organization that starts and manages outstanding urban charter public schools that close the achievement gap and prepare low-income students to graduate from college. Uncommon has 53 public charter schools in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts and is the largest charter network in the Northeast, with over 19,200 students and over 2,300 staff. Our schools are among the highest-performing urban schools in their cities and states. 82% of Uncommon’s high school graduates have graduated or are on pace to graduate from college, a rate far higher than the national 12% four-year college graduation rate among the most economically disadvantaged students. Position Overview The Special Assistant to the CEO provides essential support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as he leads the organization in accomplishing its goals. In this role, you will manage the CEO’s calendar and scheduling, ensure seamless execution of senior leadership meeting logistics, support presentation creation, and work on a variety of special projects and strategic initiatives. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to the strategic management and day-to-day leadership of a high-performing charter network. You will be a member of the Special Projects Team and report to the Senior Associate Director of Special Projects. You will also work closely with the CEO, Chief of Staff, and Senior Director of Special Projects, and will interface with leaders across Uncommon’s instructional, operational, and Home Office teams.
