Brooklyn Regional Team Coordinator, Uncommon New York City

Position Overview
The Brooklyn Regional Team Coordinator supports the New York City Regional Team in areas such as event planning, calendar management and scheduling, correspondence, travel logistics, preparing for and reporting on meetings, completion of special projects and reports, and other special events and duties as needed. The Brooklyn Regional Team Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of School Support and works closely with the Director of School Support, Associate Director of Student Recruitment, Associate/Director of Strategic Initiatives, Chief Operating Officer, Associate Chief Operating Officers, Assistant Superintendents, School Principals, Directors of Operations, and Uncommon Home Office staff. Open position is based in Brooklyn; some travel between Brooklyn-Manhattan will be required.

Reports to: the Associate Director of School Support; works closely with all levels of organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage calendars, arrange meetings and conference calls
  • Perform various administrative and other related duties as required and assigned, including management of the regional team office.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings to record general notes and follow-up assignments, as necessary
  • Develop systems and processes to maximize efficiency
  • Provide comprehensive support for team meetings, staff retreats, and speaking engagements
  • Make travel arrangements and provide materials for off-site meetings
  • Keep projects on schedule and track tasks
  • Perform special school-, network-, and Uncommon-wide projects
  • Track and locate space for all meeting requests in Brooklyn NYC schools
  • Coordinate operational logistics and information flow among network schools.

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Very strong organizational skills and writing skills
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Results-oriented in supporting complex, deadline-driven operations
  • Ability to create and maintain systems that enhance organizational efficiency
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible
  • Ability to drive initiatives resulting from meetings with various stakeholders (e.g. team meetings, management meetings, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and follow through on all items within demanding timelines
  • Able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed
  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in a team and provide comprehensive support to members of operational team
  • Upbeat, positive, outgoing, and personable
